It's true, other places along the Romantic Road are more popular than Creglingen. But once you have been there, you will agree it's worth visiting. The "Herrgottskirche" a small church just outside the city centre houses one of the most spectacular pieces of woodcarving art, the "Mary's Altar" done by Tilman Riemenschneider in the late middle ages. Creglingen itself is a lovely little town in the romantic Tauber valley, definitely an option for your tour in Franconia.
