Also called the "Swabian Ocean" you can imagine the size (at least compared with other lakes in the area) of this glacier formed lake north of the Alps. Lake Constance is the border between Germany, Austria and Switzerland and in the summer a water sport paradise. The name giving town Constance is a beautiful university town located directly at the lake - full of history and appealing buildings. Just a few kilometres outside the city is Ueberlingen, with impressive reconstructions of the stone age settlements on build on stakes in the lake.
